A Shelter for Ricky and Ruth Rattie

Mr Know wants to give Ricky and Ruth a place that they can call their own.  Mr Know is very familiar with the happenings that the rats get up to.

Mr Know has called a meeting at Twin Trunks with the committee to discuss what and where should Ricky and Ruth live.  Terry Tan tells the rabbits that recently while flying in the helicopter he saw a small wooden box which would be ideal for them to use as a shelter. The other rabbits are delighted to hear about the wooden box that the rats could  use for their home.  The rabbits all agree that it should not be relocated too close to the rabbit’s homes.

A location has been decided and Terry Tan offers to move the box to the location the next day.  The rabbits are happy they have come to an agreement to let the rats stay in the area. The meeting closes after they have a sing along with Terry Tan playing the ukulele.

The next day after Terry Tan  moves the box into its agreed location and the committee members come and inspect the box. Mr Know acknowledges that it is small but it will be a shelter for them  to have without been disturbed. Terry Tan is Ricky’s best friend so Terry Tan will make contact with him and offer him the wooden box as a home for them to use.

Meanwhile… after the upsetting missing school hand bell incident Ricky and Ruth have left K. C. Bunnyborough and are having a few days exploring other areas. They discover an empty snail shell, but they can smell a fresh smell of another animal that is living in the snail shell.

They have their evening meal and discuss their future. Ruth wants a home but her brother, Ricky loves running around exploring and taking risks. They watch the sunset and no animal has come to the snail shell so Ricky and Ruth crawl in and sleep inside for the night. They leave early in the morning so they won’t have a confrontation with the animal that is living in the snail shell.

While they were exploring  that afternoon they came across a soap dish.
“Oh!” Ruth exclaims,” This is just the right size for a bed.”

They have a comfortable night sleeping in the soap dish and Ruth asks Ricky, “Let’s take this to K. C. Bunnyborough and make a place for ourselves there.”
The next morning they scamper towards K. C. Bunnyborough. Terry Tan sees them coming and he tells them he has moved a box into position for them to use as a home or shelter. The rats are surprised and they follow him to the location.

Ricky and Ruth love the box and location and happily accept it as their home. Ruth tells Terry about the soap dish they used as a bed and asks if they can have it here.
“Of course you can,” replies Terry Tan," You can have whatever you choose at your place."
Part Two will be, Ricky and Ruth Settle into their Shelter.
