Polly comes to Live at Kowhai Corner

Shirley tells Oscar that Polly is arriving today to live with them at Kowhai Corner.  Shirley asks Oscar if he could go and pick some guavas so they can have some for lunch.

Oscar is happy to pick guavas because it is a good reason to climb the tree.  He picks them and puts them in the bucket.

He climbs down the tree and sits on the ground and eats a few. He hears a rustle in the tree and sees Ted  watching him.  Ted tells Oscar he will take the guavas inside to Shirley and tells him to go and get a pumpkin and cut it up for Shirley so she can make some pumpkin soup for lunch.

Oscar goes to the garden and selects a pumpkin. He sits on it and thinks I have picked the guavas and now I am to cut up the pumpkin.  What has Ted done today?

Ted cuts out piece of pumpkin that he thinks will be the right size for Shirley.  He doesn’t notice the two rats watching him who are waiting to collect the pumpkin seeds.

Shirley thanks Oscar for the pumpkin piece and starts making the pumpkin soup. Knock, knock, "Oh, Oscar can you answer the door?" asks Shirley  "I am busy cooking the pumpkin soup."

Oscar opens the door and sees Polly standing there. He invites Polly inside and takes her to meet Shirley and Ted.

Polly asks Shirley if she can have a bath because she feels dirty after her travelling. Shirley asks Oscar to stir the pumpkin soup while she takes Polly to the bathroom and then shows her to her bedroom. Polly enjoys her bath while Oscar (who has been asked) sets the table for lunch.

Polly joins the Ted, Oscar and Shirley for a delicious lunch of pumpkin soup, a bread roll and guavas. After lunch Polly helps to clear the table and tells Shirley that she is tired and she is going to have an afternoon rest.

Polly walks past Ted’s bedroom and sees him in bed having a rest. Polly thinks Ted must have been helping Shirley today. (The poster is the Pumpkin Patch plastic bag, May 2014.)

Polly gets into her bed and feels comfortable and falls asleep. (The poster is the other side of the Pumpkin Patch bag.)

Shirley washes the dishes and Oscar dries them and puts them in the cupboard.  They both agree that Polly is a lovely girl and they will all get on well living together.  Shirley thanks Oscar for helping her today and says Ted can help with the jobs that need doing tomorrow.

May Visits Oscar

Over a year ago May left Kowhai Corner  to go and live with a lot of other teddy bears. She is very happy where she is living and wears a lovely ribbon around her neck but she decides to take it off before she goes to visit Oscar.
The morning of Mays visit Oscar gets up and has his bath. He lingers in the bath for a long time that the water goes cold.

He gets out of the bath and gets dressed in his best clothes ready for May’s visit.

Oscar sees a gerbera in a bottle and thinks this will be a nice flower to present to May when she arrives.

He greets May at the door and presents the gerbera to her on her arrival. He notices that May still wears her earing like she did when she lived here. May gives Oscar a bear hug and tells him she likes his clothes.

Oscar tells May about a new bear, Shirley, who arrived at Kowhai Corner after May left.  He takes May to meet her. May notices Shirley’s nice dress and feels embarrassed because she has no clothes on. Shirley offers May a floral all in one suit to wear while she is here and May thankfully accepts.  May puts the all in one suit on and likes it.

Shirley suggests they all go outside  for afternoon tea. Oscar shows May the photo of him and Ted wearing their own Fish’n’Chips singlet.

May tells Oscar she remembers the day when they put on the baby Fish’n’Chips singlet's that were in the bedroom.

Shirley brings out the drinks and a plate of cupcakes for afternoon tea.
Time has moved on and it is time for May to leave Oscar, Shirley and Ted and go home. She takes off the suit and gives it back to Shirley. May picks up the gerbera to take home and says her good byes to the bears. She ties her ribbon around her neck before she enters her home.

When she arrives home she goes to her special friend that has a motorbike to show him the gerbera flower she was given.

She then jumps up to her place on the shelf with the other bears. She enjoyed her visit to see Oscar but is happy to return to her home with her new bear friends.
