Happy Christmas and Holidays 2015

Mr Know and Terry Tan think they have found Christmas Island!  The verse at the lower left reads; ‘God did not send His Son into the world to condemn its people, He sent Him to save them!’  JOHN 3:17. All the rabbits from K.C. Bunnyborough hope all the followers and readers of this site have a very happy holiday season.

Next month I will put the email address to this site in this space for people who would like to send a photo of Sylvanian rabbits, mice or guinea pigs. The photos are to have the animals doing something or in front of an interesting background. So you can think about it. I will accept photos to post on this site during the month of January. If I get too many photos I will shorten the postal time. Thanks.

Please send your photo to karen2005@slingshot.co.nz Thanks.

The House Warming Afternoon Tea

The rabbits at Mr and Mrs White’s house get up later than usual because last night they had a House Warming Party to celebrate moving into their new house. This afternoon the youngest rabbits and rabbits with disabilities are coming to Mr and Mrs White’s house for afternoon tea.

It does not take long for the family to tidy up in expectation of the visitors. Baby Gwen is anxiously waiting for the visitors to arrive.

Mr White is checking, for the second time, the drawers and places where his music books and music sheets have been put. This piece of toast Gwen has put in the top drawer needs to be removed!

There is a knock on the door and Mrs White opens the door to welcome in Nurse Emily, Rosemary, Rata, Marigold and Dental Nurse Flo.

Next to arrive is Mrs Know with the twins, Herb and Hebe. Mrs Know is not going to stay so Mr White pushes the pram up the step and into the house.

Mrs Grayson has brought baby Pip, cousin Brooke and baby  Nugget Chocolate. The baby rabbits quickly hop inside the door and Mr White waves good bye to Mrs Grayson.

Pink Nose gives Rosemary a drink of orange juice. Rosemary thanks Pink Nose and tells Pink Nose that she likes her new dress.

All the rabbits have arrived who were invited so Mr and Mrs White ask the baby rabbits to sit on the white mat.

Mr White plays the piano and plays well known children’s songs. The adults sing heartily whereas the baby rabbits produce a range of squeaking out of time to the  music that is being played!

Then the rabbits hear a very loud squeak! The rabbits look over in the direction of Mrs Know’s pram and they see Nugget has crawled underneath and has his ear caught between the spokes of the pram wheel.

Just as well there is a nurse in the house. Nurse Emily gently slides Nugget out from under the pram and asks Mrs White for a bandage. Mrs White can’t think where she put the bandages so she gets Mr White’s blue shirt and rips it into strips to tie around firmly to the affected ear to stop the swelling. The baby rabbits jump onto the couch to have a closer look at Nugget's bandaged ear.

Now that the ear is bandaged and Nugget has stopped squealing Mr and Mrs White move the table outside to put the afternoon tea on.

Nurse Emily puts Nugget in Herb and Hebe’s pram and gives him his bottle. Herb and Hebe are not very happy about that but when they see the afternoon tea Mrs White has provided they focus on that.

Mrs White puts a plate of gingerbread men, a plate with fancy biscuits and a plate of cheesecake on the table. A drink of orange is provided for all. Dental Nurse Flo is wandering why there is no fruit or vegetables provided for afternoon tea.  Well… it is a happy occasion to invite the rabbits who live at K. C. Bunnyborough Health Care Centre to join in the celebration.

Mrs Chocolate is the last mother to arrive to pick up Nugget to take home. Nurse Emily explains to her what happened to Nugget’s ear. Mrs Chocolate expresses how grateful she to Nurse Emily for bandaging his ear and thanks Mrs White for having Nugget for the afternoon.

This Pumpkin Patch Oscar bear is dressed in his Rugby supporter clothes, (not Pumpkin Patch clothes).

Three different colour Pumpkin Patch bears. I think it is latte, honey and toffee.

The White Family Have a House Warming Party

The White family have arrived at their new home and with help have unloaded their furniture into the lower room of this house. Terry Tan is going to be living in one of the upper rooms but he knows nothing about the move of the White family who have permission to live in the lower room. Terry Tan is away flying the helicopter on a secret mission and will be back in two days’ time.

The first thing Mrs White did the next morning was order a bright pink floor covering that will remind her of her happy days living in the Pink Boot home.  She also chose the curtain fabric and curtain fittings and Mr White went to town to collect them.

The White family have put the floor covering down and hung the curtains in their room.   They are ready to have a house warming party so the pass the message to all the rabbits at K. C. Bunnyborough to come over for a concert. Mr White still hasn't found his music book.

Grandfather and Grandmother Cottontail have arrived with a container of carrot soup.

The Lemon family arrive next with some freshly picked daffodils.

They are followed by the Grayson family. Nurse Flo and the Dental Nurse are going to look after the baby rabbits at the hospital that will stay the night.  They have been invited to an afternoon concert the next day.

The Grayson Blue family come hopping in.

Mr Dot and Ingrid arrive with two pizzas.

The table is moved over to the other side of the room where it will be more accessible at supper time.

All the rabbits invited have arrived so Mr White thanks the for  rabbits coming to their house warming evening and starts playing the piano.

The rabbits join in with the singing and call out their requests.

They also dance and hop around although there is not much space.
Mrs White announces supper is ready so the rabbits go to the table to have some.

Tea, Coffee and orange juice is available, Plus carrot soup, pizza and chocolate cake. The supper quickly disappears and then so do the rabbits. That is after they thank the White family for an enjoyable evening.

The happy White family go to  bed to have a peaceful sleep because tomorrow afternoon they have another  house warming party.

The Kowhai Tree with a Tui on a Branch

This photo was taken recently and there is a tui on a branch at the top right of photo. A tui has been visiting this tree almost daily to feed on the nectar of the kowhai flowers. It is quite vocal when it is in the tree.

This photo was taken two days ago of a tui in the tree. This photo is a bit closer and the tui is in the middle of the tree.

The White Family Move to a New Home

Mr and Mrs White, baby Gwen and Mrs White’s sister, Pink Nose have been living in the Pink Boot. Over the years the Pink Boot home has started leaking and it cannot be patched up because the plastic has been weakened by the sun and rain.

Mr White is hopping to Mr Knows home to speak to him about new accommodation that he and his family can  live in.

Mr Know invites Mr White to sit down with him and discuss the housing situation in K. C. Bunnyborough.

Mr Know acknowledges that the Pink Boot home is not suitable to live in anymore and offers him and his family accommodation in a house that has recently been moved to K. C. Bunnyborough. Would he and family like to have the lower level of a house?  Terry Tan is going to live in one of the upper rooms. Mr White is delighted with the offer and accepts. Mr Know tells him he and his family can move in as soon as they want to.

On the way home to the Pink Boot home Mr White collects Strawberry, the pony and attaches the trap so the family can load it up with their furniture and move today.

Mrs White, Pink Nose and Gwen can hardly believe it when Mr White arrives home with Strawberry and the jig all ready to load the furniture to move right now! The first item they load on the trap is Mr White’s precious piano.

They all help to load all their furniture onto the trap and start hopping to the new house. None of the other rabbits at K. C. Bunnyborough know that they are moving house today. It is happening so quickly.

The family arrive at the address Mr White was given by Mr Know and they all go in the house to have a look inside before they unload their furniture.

The White family hear noises outside and Len and Larry Lemon and Richard Grayson have arrived to help them unload their furniture. Mr Know had sent word to them about the move to the house and they all were keen to go and help the white family unload their furniture.

The furniture has been unloaded except the piano which Mr White helps  supervise the unloading and carrying of the piano into the house.

Strawberry is taken back to her paddock and the piano is carefully carried into the house.

Mr White gives directions of  where he wants the piano put. Mrs White and Pink Nose are arranging the furniture in the house.

Mr White plays some tunes on the piano to check that it still goes. He doesn’t need to retune the piano but he can’t find his music book. Mrs White has looked around the room and has quite a few ideas of how she wants to decorate the inside of the house. She loves the bigger space this room has compared to the Pink Boot home.

Visiting

Grandfather and Grandmother Cottontail are photographed with some friends they met when they were on holiday.

The Hazelnut Family Need a Home

Mrs Grayson invites the Hazelnut family to stay and have a meal with them. The family gratefully accept and explain that the river flooded and washed their home away. Terry Tan rescued them by helicopter and instructed them to go to Mr Know’s house when they landed at K. C. Bunnyborough. Mr Know cannot give them a home at K. C. Bunnyborough because it is a place for rabbits to live… but recently a shelter was organised for two young rats that have been hiding in K. C. Bunnyborough since it was established. Mr Know assures the family that a shelter will be given to them to use.

Mrs Grayson suggests that they go and meet Grandfather and Grandmother Cottontail who have a caravan and often travel around in their car to different areas they might know of a place where you can make a home for yourselves.

The family thank the Grayson family for a lovely meal of carrots and go to find Grandfather and Grandmother Cottontail.

Grandfather and Grandmother Cottontail are delighted to meet the Hazelnut family and invite them to stay with them tonight in the caravan.

The Hazelnut family have a good sleep when they all finally stop talking to Grandfather and Grandmother Cottontail. Otto and Odette love sleeping in the bunk beds.

The next morning after a nice hot cooked breakfast Grandfather Cottontail recommends that they go and visit the rats at their shelter.

The Hazelnut family are given the instructions to find the rats shelter. The Hazelnut family all use toilet before they leave. Mrs Hazelnut thanks Mrs Cottontail for their hospitality and the Hazelnut family scamper off towards the rat’s shelter.

The rats are a bit shy when the Hazelnut family arrive because they are used to hiding from other animals. After the Hazelnut family introduce themselves to Ricky and Ruth they talk about their need to find themselves a shelter to make into a home.

Mr Hazelnut says the houses at K. C. Bunnyborough are great but they prefer to live out doors. Ricky suggests that they might be able to make themselves comfortable shelter in a nearby tree where Ricky and Ruth spend a lot of time climbing and playing in.
Ricky and Ruth asks the family to follow them to the tree. The Hazelnut family and very impressed when they see the tree. Mr Hazelnut looks at Mrs Hazelnut and she nods her head in approval before Mr Hazelnut asks her if she would like to stay here.

Otto and Odette squeal in delight and start climbing the tree. The others follow and explore the tree. Ruth and Ricky will enjoy having them live nearby and can see they will all become good friends.
