Last Day of School Celebration

Mrs Clematis Know is back at school teaching the rabbits after her recent wedding.

She fondly remembers her first kiss on her wedding day.

The rabbit pupils are decorating the class room for the last school day of the year celebration. Mrs Know notices that Coco and Freya Chocolate are not at school today. Mrs Know is also aware of the struggles Rata and Marigold are having at school and will speak to Mr Know about it and see if they both can get some medical advice.

Mr Chocolate arrives at the school just before the rabbits leave to go home, to tell Mrs Know that his family have moved into their house and the children didn’t come to school today because they have been helping set up at home.
It is 3pm and school has finished for the day and Mr Know has come to pick up Mrs Know on his new bike.Mr Chocolate invites them to come to his house to have a look.
The house still needs a wide window ledge put up on the lower window so Mr Chocolate can display his chocolates and cupcakes he will have for sale. The Chocolate Family are delighted to have their own home. Now Mr Chocolate can do his baking and sell it from home. The other members of his family will help when needed. Mr Chocolate tells Mr and Mrs Know that he is baking something special for the last day of school celebration.

Today is the last day of school and here comes Strawberry, the pony, pulling the cart behind her. Wow! The rabbits exclaim when they see what is on the cart.
The edible house is quickly unloaded off the cart and the rabbits admire Mr Chocolate’s creation.Mr Chocolate tells them that he made it with chocolate, biscuits, icing and pebble lollies. It is for them to eat.

Gene has climbed into the chimney. It looks too nice to eat but soon the rabbits start licking and nibbling at the edible house. What is not eaten can be taken home and some will be given to the White family and Grandpa and Grandmother Cottontail who don't have family here.

Mr Chocolate will take Strawberry to every rabbit home in K. C. Bunnyborough and they  will receive  some edible house to eat. Everyone is happy that there is a school at K. C. Bunnyborough.

The Wedding of Mr Know and Clematis

The Wedding of Mr Know and Clematis

Mr Know and Clematis recently announced their engagement and they would both like to get married as soon as possible.   Clematis has suggested that she would like to get married on the 11th day of the 11th month of 2011 at 11 past 11 am.  Mr Know nods his head in approval and quotes, “The sooner the better.” So they arrange their wedding for the date and time Clematis has suggested.

Clematis would like to get married outside and have the ground covered in clematis flowers so she goes to look at the clematis vine to see if there are enough flowers.   There are not enough flowers as she would like because it is at the end of the flowering season.   She will use the few flowers still left on the vine.
Mr Know tells Clematis that she will be picked up at 10.45 am on the wedding day and driven to the arranged wedding site.  Clematis is ready earlier and waits anxiously outside Mr Grayson’s house for her transport to arrive.
Strawberry, the pony arrives pulling a beautiful coach for Clematis to get into to be taken to the wedding site.

Clematis is nervous and excited at the same time.  Both are older rabbits and Mr Know never thought he would get married... LOVE CHANGES EVERYTHING!   When she arrives she sees Mr Know waiting.

She walks up to him and the senior kiwi conducts the wedding service and they say their wedding vows to each other in front of the Grayson family and Chocolate family. They couldn’t invite all the rabbits at K. C. Bunnyborough to come to the wedding ceremony because they arranged it so quickly .

The other rabbits have organised a mid-day meal and entertainment at K. C. Bunnyborough School for Mr and Mrs Know. Clematis is the teacher at the school.
Mr and Mrs Know are over whelmed when they arrive at the school after the wedding ceremony and see what the rabbits have done. The Chocolate family have made them a wedding cake.
Mr White plays the piano while they eat their meal.Terry Tan plays his ukulele after lunch and all the rabbits join in with singing and dancing.

Mr and Mrs Know slip away when no one is looking to go on their honeymoon.

They are looking forward to a very happy life together.

Love is in the Air

Love is in the Air (part 2 of Mr Know meets the Chocolate Family and Clematis)

Clematis has been teaching at K. C. Bunnyborough School for two weeks.  Each day when school finishes Mr Know has visited her at the school to see how she is coping.  He has been very supportive and kind to her.   He appreciates having a teacher to relieve him of his teaching job and he has been able to spend more time visiting the rabbits that live at K. C. Bunnyborough and listen to any concerns they might have.

Last weekend Mr Know showed Clematis around K. C. Bunnyborough and even took her home to his moa egg house where he lives.

0ne morning of the third week while Clematis was at the school teaching the rabbits they heard the danger signal given by rabbits… that is the thumping of their back legs on the ground.  Clematis remains calm and tells the rabbits to continue doing their maths.

Meanwhile, Mr Know, goes to investigate where the thumping signal started.   Terry Tan meets Mr Know and tells Mr Know the friendly fantail had twittered to the nearest rabbit, "A boy and girl are looking into Mr Know’s  moa egg home." The rabbit sent the danger signal. K. C. Bunnyborough is behind Kowhai Corner Farm and is a secret, safe place for rabbits to live and is out of bounds to people.

Some of the adult rabbits appear to see if they can help but Mr Know tells them to go home and he will go and investigate with Terry Tan and Mr Grayson.

As they get closer to Mr Know’s home the friendly fantail is flittering around and tells the rabbits that it was Joey and Annabelle and that once the first rabbit was informed and started the thumping they ran off very quickly back to the rocks which they were not supposed to climb over.

Mr Know checks his home and all is in order he tells Terry Tan and Mr Grayson that he will go and visit Steve Sunshine, the owner of Kowhai Corner Farm, to find out why Joey and Annabelle have climbed over the rocks.

Steve Sunshine assures Mr Know that the rabbits are safe and Joey and Annabelle were warned not to climb over the rocks, and  that he will talk with Joey and Annabelle when they arrive back from their overnight camp and that the situation won’t occur again.

Mr Know thanks Steve Sunshine and then hops to K. C. Bunnyborough school to explain to Clematis what has happened.   He is surprised to see the rabbit pupils all calm and doing their school work.

Mr Know and Clematis have spent time together every day since they met!  At the weekend when they were having a picnic together Mr Know gives Clematis a present.

It is a tee shirt!   Mr Know asks Clematis to marry him.  Clematis very happily accepts.

Mr Know meets the Chocolate Family and Clematis

Mr Know has come to the Grayson’s house this evening to meet the Chocolate family and Clematis who are from Christchurch. They moved to Kowhai Corner Bunnyborough after the first earthquake in September 2010.   Mr Know wants to discuss with Mr Chocolate his job situation and his housing situation to see if the family will be suitable residents to live permanently at Kowhai Corner.

Mr Chocolate says he would like to open a shop and sell chocolate and cupcakes which he and Mrs Chocolate will bake. When they earn enough money they plan to buy a home.
Mr Know and Mr Grayson go out the room to have a private discussion about what Mr Chocolate has told them.

They both come back into the room smiling and  Mr Know shakes Mr Chocolate's hand and says, " Welcome to Kowhai Corner Bunnyborough as a permanent resident, all the best for your chocolate and cupcake shop and buying a house.   Please keep me informed in the future about how things are working out."

Mr Know then gives his attention to Clematis who has been waiting patiently.   Clematis tells Mr Know that she is a qualified primary school teacher.   Mr Know jumps up in delight and asks, “Would you like to teach the rabbits at Kowhai Corner School?”

“Yes, I would love to.” Clematis answers. “When would you like me to start?”
“TOMORROW!  Come tomorrow morning to the school and I will introduce you to the rabbits and if you feel confident to teach tomorrow afternoon I shall leave and you can be the new teacher,” says an excited Mr Know.
“Yes, I can start tomorrow.” Clematis replies.

The next morning Clematis arrives at the school and Mr Know introduces her to the rabbit pupils.Clematis starts her introduction and is a natural teacher that Mr Know excuses himself an hour later and  leaves her to it.

Mr Know comes back when the school is finished and asks Clematis whether she enjoyed her first day as the new teacher.Clematis has enjoyed her first day teaching. She intends to make some changes in the school room.
Mr Know has been the teacher at K. C. Bunnyborough School since it opened recently.Mr Know is the overseer of K.C. Bunnyborough and since the school opened he hasn’t been able to get around to visit the residents to see if there are any problems. When there are any problems, complaints and ideas he and Mr Grayson discuss them and decide whether to call for a meeting for all residents to sort the problem out.

Two Visiting Helicopters

Two Visiting Helicopters

Terry Tan is a voluntary mechanic for the Westpac Rescue helicopter. The helicopter is at K. C. Bunnyborough overnight for Terry to do a routine check.

Terry has rung Mrs Lemon to invite her and the boys over to have a look at the Westpac Rescue helicopter and his visiting friend’s helicopter. “ Come over early in the morning because both are leaving at first light.” Terry says, "Keep it secret because my friend is on a secret mission and it is not to be known where he is." Len, Larry and younger brother, Les can hardly sleep that night because they are so excited to be able to see a real helicopter on the ground.

Early the next morning Mrs Lemon calls the boys to get up and get ready to go and see the helicopters.

On the way they past the lake and the swans ask, “Have you any bread?” The rabbits stop and Larry replies, “No, not today because we are in a hurry to see a helicopter,” and they continue hopping.

Next they past a flock of seagulls, one of them squalls out “Have you got any bread?”. “No,” answers Les, “ We are in a hurry to see a helicopter.” and they all quickly resume hopping.

“There it is,” points Mrs Lemon. As they hop closer they can hear the engine going. “We are just in time.” She says. They watch it ascend in the sky and Len notices that it is brass and the markings on one the side read VERTOL V-107-11.

Terry hops over to greet them and invites them  to have a look at the Westpac Rescue helicopter that he had been working on last night. They are allowed to go inside and have a look at the controls before Terry flies off to the Westpac  depot so it is ready for another rescue.

Found and Returned

Found and Returned is part two of A Picinic at Tree Hut Park

Grandpa Cottontail drove to the Grayson house to take the children home. Mrs Grayson thanked Grandpa and Grandma Cottontail for taking five of her children to Tree Hut Park for the day.

When Grandpa and Grandma Cottontail arrived at their caravan home Grandma Cottontail carried the baby guinea pig inside. She gave him a warm drink of milk and put him to bed on the sheep skin with a hottie and a blanket over him.

Grandma Cottontail washed the picnic plates, cups, glasses and other things they used and Grandpa Cottontail put the picnic table cloth in the cupboard. They were both in bed when the baby guinea pig   began squeaking. Grandma  picked him up and now he felt hot! She put him back on the sheepskin bed without the hottie and blanket and told him to go back to sleep.

During the night Grandpa and Grandma Cottontail were woken up with loud squeaking. Sleepily, Grandma Cottontail sat up and could see baby guinea pig trying to get up into her sleeping bag.

Grandma Cottontail hopped out of bed and took him to the toilet and put him back to bed.

Early in the morning baby guinea pig started squeaking  so Grandma Cottontail gave him a weetbix for breakfast and made a cup of tea for Grandpa Cottontail and herself.  Grandpa Cottontail read the Lost and Found column in the newspaper but no one has lost a baby guinea pig. He tells Grandma Cottontail that they will go back to Tree Hut Park this morning and look for baby guinea pig’s mother.

Later that morning when they arrive at Tree Hut Park they see Mr and Mrs White with their baby Gwenda by the arch branch. They go over to them and Mr White tells them that he is going to attach a tyre to make a swing on the arch branch… just how it use to be.  Grandma Cottontail tells them about the baby guinea pig they found yesterday and asks if they have seen any guinea pigs here. Mr White replied that there has been shuffling noises over in the bushes.

Just then baby guinea pig starts squeaking so Grandma Cottontail hops over towards the bushes where they hear more squeaking and out comes a guinea pig who says she is his mother. Mother guinea pig said that he didn’t follow her back to the bushes yesterday morning. Baby guinea pig is reunited with his mother and twin sister and the guinea pigs all disappear into the bushes.

Mr White has finished attaching the the tyre to the arch branch and Gwenda is enjoying her swing.
