The Hot Air Balloon Adventure

The twins, Len and Larry were playing at the Tree Hut Park when they saw a hot air balloon in the sky. They watched it hover in the distance and then it came down. Larry suggested to Len that they should go and see if they can find the place where the hot air balloon landed. Len was keen to go and look for the hot air balloon so off they hopped in the direction where they last saw it.

After forty minutes of hopping they could see it upright on the ground in the distance. When they got close to the hot air balloon they shouted out, “Hello, is there anyone here?” There was no reply and Larry said that he was going to get in the carrier part of the hot air balloon. Len followed Larry up the ladder but tripped at the top and fell ears first into the carrier.

One ear moved a lever and the hot air balloon began to rise.

It went higher and higher and the wind started to sweep it along. Len and Larry looked at each other with surprise and thought this is great.

They drifted along past the country and as a town loomed closer below them the hot air balloon started to lower. The twins looked down at the lever and tried to pull it up but it would not move.

They landed on a road and could see an articulated lorry turning the corner driving straight towards them. The lorry brakes screeched as it came to a sudden halt.

A siren sounded and a Police van came up the other street. The Policeman got out of his van and handcuffed the lorry driver. The articulated lorry had been stolen earlier that morning.

The Policeman thanked Len and Larry for blocking the road at the right time. The Policeman asked the twins to show him their hot air balloon license. Larry explained that they found the hot air balloon in a field and when they climbed in the lever was accidentally pushed down and the hot air balloon  rose up.

The Policeman  spoke on his remote control to the Police Officer at the Police station to see if anyone had reported a missing hot air balloon. No one had. The Police officer shook Len and Larry’s hand and told them he would look after the hot air balloon now and advised them to hop home before it gets dark.

There was an old woman who lived in a shoe ... 2

I have blocked out some words on the above picture.

A photo of a boot and rabbits.

Mr and Mrs White with Gwenda are looking at the picture of an Australian boot house.

This is one of my favourite pictures.  It is a page out an English Woman's Weekly.  The instructions to make this scene were given weekly. I don't have the instructions on how to make this scene.
