The Pink Boot

It was a bright and sunny morning when Mrs Grayson woke up and looked out of the window.   She thought, I must get up now and go and pick blackberries before it gets too hot.   She hopped out of bed, got dressed, picked up her basket and went hopping towards the blackberry vines.

She went deeper and deeper amongst the blackberry vines because the other rabbits had picked the blackberries off the closer vines.   As she was picking the last blackberries she required something pink under the leaves caught her eye.   What can this be? she thought, as she hopped closer to have a look.

Oh!  It's a boot house lying on its side.   She looked through the hole in the roof and saw that it was empty.     She picked up her basket and hopped home as fast as she could to tell Mr Grayson.

Mrs Grayson was hot and panting when she arrived home. She told Mr Grayson of her discovery.   "Do you think you could find the pink boot again?" asked Mr Grayson.    "Yes! Yes!   Get a group of males together and we can bring it back to K. C. Bunnyborough."  replied the excited Mrs Grayson.

So Richard hops to Terry Tan's house and asks him and they hop to Len and Larry's house and ask them to come  and investigate  the pink boot whereabouts.

The male rabbits find and surround the boot and agree that the pink boot house has been empty for a long time and that  they will move it to K. C. Bunnyborough.

They all count 1, 2, 3 and lift the boot onto the trap and hop back to K. C. Bunnyborough.

They arrive at K. C. Bunnyborough and the  rabbits put down a foundation stone  for the boot house to be placed on.   The pink boot is lifted into position ready to be occupied.

"Wow!   The pink boot house looks great.   Who will live in it?" asks Richard Grayson,(Mrs Grayson's eldest son) .   " Mrs Grayson found the boot so it's her choice who she asks to live in it." replies Mr Grayson. Mrs Grayson is going to ask Mr and Mrs White with baby Gwen. They moved to K. C. Bunnyborough  in September 2009 and are living in a burrow.

Mr and Mrs Grayson hop off together in search of Mr and Mrs White.  They find them leaving the playground.    Mrs Grayson tells them the good news and they all go together to the pink boot to have a look.     Mr White says his family would love to have the pink boot for their home.   The male rabbits take the pony and trap to Mr and Mrs White's burrow to collect their  furniture.

Mrs Grayson goes home and cooks three large blackberry pies while Mr and Mrs White's furniture is collected and transported to the pink boot.   Mrs Grayson arrives back at the pink boot after  the furniture has been unloaded .   All the rabbits squeal in delight when they see the pies.   Mr and Mrs White invite the rabbits  to stay and eat the pies with them.   They accept and eat every crumb!  Mr White starts playing the piano and they all sing together late into the night.   It has been a long, but  a happy day, for all the rabbits involved.
